Meeting Santa For The First Time… Ever | Sixtysecond Motion November

I text my husband the other morning and I said, “I’m taking the kids to see Santa!” Can you believe my daughter is 5 and this was her first time ever to go see Jolly Ol’ St. Nick in person??

I know!! Don’t judge me too hard. We’ve attempted the past couple of years, but long lines and busyness of life always got in the way. This year, I decided we’re going to meet him AT LEAST one time. Well, it finally happened!! We head up to our nearest Bass Pro Shop, got our pass and headed up the red carpet. It’s absolutely no surprise that my daughter didn’t hesitate a bit to walk right up to Mr. Claus and shake his hand. She’s been waiting for this day for quite some time now.

My son on the other hand… well… he’s a bit more reserved. You’ll see…

I was so thankful for this film challenge that pushed me to not just take photos of my babies meeting Santa, but to actually capture all of the action and sounds of this once in a lifetime experience. After all, you only get to meet Santa for the first time once, and I wasn’t going to let this opportunity pass me by. Have a look, and see how it all went down!

As you may have noticed, I had to pull out the ol’ mom trick of letting my little buddy think it was HIS idea to go talk to Santa. He just had to show Santa the toy he wanted, and I was so glad!! As I told the girl handing out the photos, you do “Whatever works” to get the shot. It also worked in our favor that there were so few people there, making it easy to get back in line. Such a fun afternoon adventure with my two little loves!! <3

I love Christmas time, and I love even more supporting my fellow photographers and filmmakers!! So, in the spirit of Christmas, head on over to my lovely friend over at Renee McDaniel Photography to see to see the film that Renee so beautifully put together! Click HERE!
